Hi Shazza! Welcome to the friendliest and most helpful genealogy forum on the Internet! You are not only amongst great company here, but I am happy to see that our Aussie numbers are increasing! Soon we will overtake the Poms if we keep going the way we are! Lots of serious genie research done through this group, and lots of chatter which can go from genealogy to who washed their socks in 10 minutes flat, but it is always fun! Warning though, it becomes positively obsessive to check us out at least 3 or 4 times a day, for fear of missing out on something interesting! Hope to see a lot of you....get those brick wall names up and we will all try to help you break them down. Most of all, ENJOY! Cheers, Diana
Of course it could be a case of the lunatics taking over the asylum. Maybe I could be sorry for saying that.
Now that really IS a worry, AM, but (says she raising one index finger to the sky and adopting a wise, knowing and philosophical pose and expression) one should never be sorry for telling the truth!!!! Oh dear, the clock tells me it's time for my medication - but you'd never have known that would you?
I'm getting confused here, I thought people like Diana and me were the Poms! Some kind Aussies told me so.
No, Findem, sorry to disillusion you. I was born and bred in Australia, first of the maternal family arrived here in 1800, first of paternal in 1848. Not as long a pedigree as some Australians, but not too bad at all, really. Mainly a mixture of Irish and Scottish but I've been finding more of the POM the longer I search and on both sides, so no prejudice from above here.
So have I Sis, I got mine a year after landing but that didn't stop people advising me that I am still a Pom, mind you 99% have been in fun and I can take it whether in fun or not.
And where did I see my name included me wondereth? That damned medication - must check the use by date!!!!
Seems you're having a day today similar to mine yesterday Philippa and if I don't go and get myself some lunch pretty quick I'll have another one today.
'Tis WHITE, AM, and I promise I haven't touched a drop since last night. Maybe that's the problem????????? Well................................, will you just look at that:
As you can see, Shazza, the members here will soon go off topic if you let them! A gabby lot, but with hearts of gold, as I see from the replies on your Miles and Smith thread. Huncamunca has discovered a diary, I see. How exciting!
Oh dear, Shazza. Look what you've got yourself into. We are here for a good time, that's what and a few genealogy problems to solve along the way as well.
