Common People. The History of an English Family by Alison Light.
I had this as a Christmas present and am really enjoying it. Not a resource book but the one I wish I could write about my own family/research but will never get round to.

I'm just reading it now - so far it seems a wonderful book, proving that every family's history is worth researching and recording. Oh for the literary ability to match it

Would you believe it came from Sydney? After the war we were so poor (sob, sob) my parents couldn't afford a Teddy for me (not true). This Koala was sent (along with food packages) by cousins of my mother's in NSW and I couldn't be parted from it. No idea what happened to it as I got bigger - probably passed on to other cousins

I'll meet you over on 'Archie's Mum' thread. Otherwise we will get into strife :(
