Has anybody tried moving info from Ancestry to Family Historian?
We have uploaded the gedcom from A to FH but now need to 'merge' with people already recorded on FH. As far as I can see at the moment there is no other way other than the slog of looking at each individual and manually transfering extra data.
    Any advice welcome.Thanks. Jenny

If no-one here can help, you might get some ideas from the Family Historian User Group. The forum there has a recent thread entitled "Syncing" with Ancestry (in the Importing and Exporting section) - this thread also includes links to some other relevant threads.

Anna, out of interest, how did you get on with this? Was it successful?

As a new user of Family Historian, I wasn't even aware that there was a user group, so thanks so much for this, Arthur :)

Hubby had a look at it and managed to merge individuals. Unfortunately the Gedcom does not pick up the Ancestry comment boxes at the bottom of each individual, so that still needs to be done on a manual basis. Sadly for me that is where I record info from other sources, so it is proving a long winded task.:(
I think there is a lesson here somewhere about choosing which recording system is the 'master' and which are just for convenience/research.
