I can't find the birth certificate for my maternal grandmother (she died in 1987) so I want to order another one. When I checked on Free BMD the page number is shown as 50 [38] so I'm not sure how to order it from the GRO. I thought I would have a look on Ancestry to see what page number they have and they have 5038. I don't have a sub so would someone be so kind and have a look at the actual page to see what the page number is please?

She is Selina Naomi Rixson born in Kent in Mar quarter 1894, District: Dartford, Volume 2a Page ?

    Thank you.

50 [38] means they can't make up their minds what the last number is.

Looks like 2a 508 to me. There is a 3 on the line 3 rows above and it doesn't look like that.

    If you're unsure whether it's 503 or 508, why don't you enter "503 or 508"?

It works for me (or at least it always used to).

My money is on an eight, check the three in Robert Valentine's entry but the "503 or 508" suggestion by Peter is the safer way to go.
