Still tidying files & adding to I almost didn't find a 2nd cousin -2. She married in 1903 in Marylebone, is missing in 1911 while her hubby is listed as single but in home neighbourhood - still an electrician. So where was Alice Maud?

He is listed in Cliftonville 7 First ave. 1930-1938 UK Directories.

    1939 Margate
Possibly the reason for the hurried transcription mistakes.
1st Ave. no 7 Alfred Lowman & wife Alice Maud Lowman boarding house keepers
sadly mangled with people 8-9 lines above who were also boarding house keepers at no 35 ?
Poor Alice didn't get a mention in transcriptions neither did Lazarus Pletz whose place was given over to Alfred.

Hoping a correction can be made before anyone else looks for either family & leaves disappointed. FMP ask for image errors,- well this image was fine, just the transcript needed adjusting.

I took these two as my people due to the birth dates being same as.

    Name: L Pletz
Address: Eden CT Private hotel [Eden Ct can't be found with Google now]
    Publication Year:1939
    Directory Place: Margate, Kent, England

What is the census reference for this as the only Lazarus Pletz that I can see is just 20 in 1911 and so would be too young to wed in 1903.... or have I misunderstood?

Just had a look at the 1939 register.

Lazarus and Rose Pletz are at 35 Eastern Esplanade, whereas Alfred and Alice Lowman are at 7 First Avenue, which is a road that runs off Eastern Esplanade.

The Pletz residence may still be found on google maps and sports a red front door. ;)

Sorry Jan, just whipped in for mo' 1939 has Alfred transcribed
    Pletz Household (9 People)
No 35 Eastern Esplanade , Margate M.B., Kent, England
Alfred Lowman 13 Jan 1880 Boarding House Keeper
Rose Pletz 07 Jul 1892 Boarding House Keeper
Sarah Y Pletz 23 Aug 1924 Assistant Boarding House Keeper
    Rose S Mulle? 02 Feb 1895 Independent
?ham Valier-Grossmann 25 Jan 1903 Teacher Elementary School (Unemployed)
    ......
    Transcription
    Lazarus - no mention
Alice M. Lowman - no mention. So if you can't see the image you won't know who was where. Certainly Alice doesn't appear when keying her name for 1939

this is why I hope my correction goes through so that these people can be sorted.
Will have another look at Google around the corner. :)
