Joseph Sewell and Jane Whittle.

Joseph was born in Chelmsford, Essex 1808 to Edward and Frances.

He was transported in 1832 to N.S.W. on the Lady Harewood.

He married Jean/Jane Whittle in 1840 in Newcastle and had a son Joseph in 1842 and a son Henry in 1844 at Hexam, near Newcastle. Joseph died the same year.

Jane went on to marry Richard Carpenter in 1845 and moved to the Uralla district.

Jane died in 1889 in Uralla and Richard in Tingha in 1907.

I have completed a 408 page book from Servitude to Freedom covering Joseph's history and all his descendants.
