Does anyone know.....

Sis

Rootles out resources!
what this means please, I have googled plenty of examples come up but I can't find an actual explanation:

'brother-german to the laird'

"Brother-german" means "sharing the same parents"
ie: 'full brother to the laird'

(If I was being fascetious (& could spell it!) I would suggest it meant a multi-national relationship: Scots & Teutonic) :D

Sorry, I've woken up in a funny mood today!
Must be the change in the weather - rain, blessed cooling rain!

Jane

OK, thanks. I think I need to shorten my words when searching, if you know what I mean. I do tend to waffle on sometimes.:D

Ooh! I am soooo jealous!
Not only are you in lovely "Snozzle"-it's raining!

It's cool & rainy here now-lovely
But I'd still rather be in Snozzle-even in the rain

It's the same here in Canada.... humidexes in the 40's every day. Supposed to have a bit of a break Friday/Saturday. I've been watering, but don't want to run my well dry.

Wish I was  I’m melting in this heat - can’t stand much more of this.
28 degrees today :( this is the fourth week of unbroken sunshine and its here for another 2 weeks yet :eek: my lawn is all yellow - looks like straw
Oh dear. I am so so sorry but 28 degrees made me smile......sorry again.
28 degrees here is a lovely warm day in the garden, soaking up some vitamin d but not staying in it too long. You can keep your 40 degrees though. We have enough of that. I have been in the garden today with a temperature of 17, that’s on the cooler side here, still wearing a hoodie, ripping out overgrown gardens, pruning neglected roses and trimming hedges.

Here, that would be T-shirt and shorts weather for me! :D

A couple of years ago, I went on holiday to Madeira in the April. I was in the T-shirt and shorts - you could tell who the locals were.... they were still wearing puffer jackets! :D

17 today was warm for here but Saturday we are looking at 7 and Sunday 6 with a minimum of -1. I’m certainly not used to it but I am loving it. It’s probably the novelty and I have new coat and gloves to wear. I have also been seen lately in a possum and alpaca knitted hat. At least summer out here won’t be humid, thank goodness.
