Either Esther Smith has no birth record or she's a cuckoo!

Please help me sort out this individual with a very common name. She seems to come from a family living around the junction of Staffordshire and Worcestershire with parents Henry Smith and Esther Boden/Bowden. Several children in the family, who appear with Esther Smith junior in the 1901 England Census are:
Eliza Smith Daughter 18 1883 b. Tipton, Staffordshire
Charlotte Smith Dau 14 1887 b. Tipton, Staffordshire,
John Smith Son 12 1889 b. Tipton, Staffordshire
William Horace Smith Son 5 1896 b. Wolverhampton, Staffordshire
with Esther's birthplace given as Gnossal, Staffordshire.
Details: 1901 Census at Wolverhampton
Piece 2680
Folio 60

There were no deaths recorded for a matched age Esther Smith between 1901 and 1911.

At the 1911 Census there is a Hetty Smith nominated as being Esther by the A-site, but living with people who are her uncle and aunt, William and Hester/Esther Willington.

Esther's Baptism on 10 Jun 1893 at St Mary's Wolverhampton gives her parents as Henry and Esther Smith but the only birth close to this I can find is:
GRO SMITH, ESTHER HARRISON[mother] GRO Reference: 1893 J Quarter in STOKE UPON TRENT Volume 06B Page 213

There is something wrong here but I need some help putting a finger on it!

Goodness knows where her birth registration is! :headbang:

However, the thought did occur to me that, as her parents moved from Tipton to Wolverhampton, as demonstrated by the different birth places of her siblings, perhaps it was overlooked whilst moving... :sceptical:

From bitter experience of "Smiths" in that area, if it was registered the birth would of been registered in Shropshire, not Staffordshire, Gnosall was a subdistrict of Newport Shropshire until 1937. Also they seemed to use Smyth as the spelling. If that helps.

Yes- there seemed to be problems spelling all of the children's names as well, so one little soul may have been left out! It is a problem in another person's family tree, with trying to distinguish among 3 Esther Smiths all born close together. The genetics are proving to be difficult, so several families are not sure who their ancestors are.
