A marriage between Elizabeth Cable and John Seago, 29th September 1778, Aylmerton Is it possible to find who their parents were please. Desperately trying to find the link between Mary Seago (c1783) and Robert Cable who is believed to be her uncle. They married in 1806 before transportation to Australia. She may be the Elizabeth Cable born to Thomas and Sarah in 1749. Thank you.

As marriages usually took place in the Bride's home Parish, I took a look at Aylemerton. FreeReg just has the baptism for this Elizabeth CABLE who would be the right age to marry. This is the one to whom you refer: 10th December 1749 to Thomas and Sarah There are a couple of others but were either too young or born after the marriage...

Thanks Wendy. I have that on my thread about Mary Armstrong. They married whilst on his way to the prison hulk. Old Bailey, he states that Mary Seago is his niece and as I am giving a potted history (on a cemetery tour) about Mary, Robert and Robert Armstrong, I would love to go back a bit further and try to work out where and how Mary and Robert Cable are related. Mary wasn't convicted but she was charged with the same offence.
I've been up to my elbows in parish Registers and still none the wiser. So will just go with the 'possibility' of Mary Seago being the daughter of Elizabeth Cable and John Seago. That will just have to do until I come up with another answer. Her brother's name was John as well. And Robert possibly the brother of Elizabeth. Is that legal? Can you marry your mother's brother?
