My grandmother was a Brightman and her line goes through Thomas Brightman, unknown date and place of birth, buried 1846 in Minster in Sheppey, Kent, aged 96(?). If you have any connection there, we could start a separate thread and let the others join in...........

I'm so sorry to join up and then disappear - and very sorry that this reply is a year in the making! I just ran out of time for my family history research, and had to put it on hold for the last year, but I am back in action now.

I have a few Thomas Brightmans in Sheppey at that time. If you're able to tell me any more - such as your grandmother's name - that would help me to identify him.

Some of my father's people came from Wingrave which I believe is not far from Aylesbury? If that's the case then of course we have to be related ( ) so how could I not say "welcome back"?
