Happy birthday TonyV

Thanks everyone. Not been online since last week because we had a visitor and it would have been rude to ignore him. However my birthday was uneventful and boring ......sorry 'enjoyable' I meant to say. Voldemort also wants to greet you.

Just before our visitor arrived, Voldemort and I were checking whether the house needed vacuuming. His memory is better than mine these days and he recalled that we cleaned the house just after Christmas to get all that nasty glitter stuff up. But those of you who know us will recall that we are very house-proud. We aim to vacuum every 6 months whether or not the house needs it. After I set him going my wife suggested that Voldemort had become rather smelly (which he thought was a rather offensive thing to say) and that maybe it was time to change his filter. So I went online but couldn't find any black ones. Apparently they all come in white. Who knew?!

Voldemort didn't like having his innards opened up or his filter removed, so he contrived to allow his top to fall and trap my fingers as I was trying to wrench the old filter from him. That's a new trick but I'm sure that my broken finger will have healed by the time I need to talk to all you nice people again. Before that his most recent trick involved the self-coiling power cable, which is supposed to return inside his carapace when I push a button. He's taken to stopping it before it's finished recoiling and then when I bend down to push the button again he releases it hoping that the plug will whip round and smash me somewhere painful. It worked last Christmas but that's why I am so confident that my finger will heal i.e. the weal on the side of my face inflicted by the plug is hardly visible any more.

That's all the news from sunny Hampshire. Bring on the rain. Never thought I'd say that.
