I have an illegitimate half brother. born during the 1930's.

My father sired this child either when my mother was pregnanat in 1930/1 or when she was pregnant with me 1938/9. I do not know the mothers name other than she was an usherette in Droitwich. I know the child was acknowledged by my father because i was told he paid maintenance. I may have half neices and nephews with whom I would like to meet. Where do I go I cannot find any likely births.

Remember not to mention any names on the forum of possibly living people.
You could look at birth registrations around the dates and may find one if the child was registered with your fathers name. If registered in the mothers name then you won't get far without her name. Any findings could be wrong and just a coincedence of surnames, especially if it's fairly common.

Your father's name will not be on the child's birth certificate unless he was present when the birth was registered and thus gave his consent.

Therefore, when looking at birth registrations for the periods in question, you will need to start with those where the surname of the child and the maiden name of the mother are the same.

This could be a long haul....
