to wish everybody the bestest Christmas ever and as for the New Year may your vision match the year - 20/20. As a special request I would like Santa to swing some cooler temperatures and some rain to assist the fire-fighters in Australia so that those brave folks will be able to spend some quality time with their loved ones.
Thank you Colin but don’t forget you kind folks over there have some of your lovely firefighters here as well. They will be further away from family and friends than ours. We really appreciate their wonderful sacrifice. It’s rather cool here this morning but will warm up to about 30 which is rather a bit better than the 45+ some places had to endure on Saturday. The smoke is incredible. Even way out here. We can’t see the hills just over the way and Bunnings (hardware) has disappeared into the fog. Rain is not on the horizon for some time yet. Our gardens are dying but more importantly, besides the fires our farmers are suffering so badly. They are deeply concerned for their future, even with a deluge it will take years to recover. The fires are just another thing to overcome. One thing after another at this time. Fires and drought are a natural occurrence here but this drought has been one to end all droughts and of course (I will not get started) mismanagement of our bush....... We had to postpone a family get together for yesterday as we weren’t taking any chances with road closures. We are a bit isolated out here when the mountains are closed. Anyhoo, have a lovely Christmas, all 3 of you and a happy start to a long retirement for Hilary.
Have a lovely Christmas and a happy, healthy new year. May all our brick walls finally come tumbling down.
