I've lost it....

Sadly from posts I've read in several genealogical pages, the world was and is full of people reinventing themselves or just downright telling porkies about everything.
Mistranscription is bad enough without the oh so shy brigade messing with our minds. eh?

p.s. I've just enjoyed reading & liking previous posts, but the liking hasn't taken hold. Please just know I did like them

Back to historic newspapers. FMP took them out of the standard subscription a couple of years ago as a way to make more money..bless them. But while they were included I spent many hours checking the sometimes sordid lives of my Vines family. However, after entering the obvious search word, more often than not I was presented with lessons on how to cultivate them. Treading regularly and wearily through the best vitis varieties for Southern England in Victorian times I occasionally found news of an errant ancestor hidden well away. By the time FMP decided to try to rip me off I had decided that I had probably spent too much time in viniculture to want to pay more for the privilege.

Same problem here, Tony.
Surname FULL.
Searching that brings up just about every article ever published!

Reading the papers (on BNA) is a wonderful way to relax - there are so many articles that were serious at the time, but now seem amusing ... I still remember the story of the young lovelorn Mademoiselle who kept trying to do away with herself and kept being saved!

OK, forget about the online jigsaws.:D I've just found a mention of one of my ancestors in the newspapers.8(:-) I haven't been able to find out much about him after his marriage, apart from his children. Couldn't find a burial, but had a rough time frame of when he might have died. So, this article has narrowed that down. You know where to find me if I don't come back for a while.:reading::D
