His wife Elizabeth died in 1848, county Down and they had five children. The four sons all came to Australia and the daughter ? Ann unknown. I would like to know how to find where Joshua and his wife were buried. Is anyone able to assist Thankyou Joanne
There were several fires that burned records kept at 4 places in Dublin. C of I records start at 1845 n r kept at GRO Dublin or PRONI. Civil reg for bmd from 1864 n 1845 - 1922 at GRO Dublin, after 1922 at PRONI. So it may look like your dates uve mentions, no records may exist. But there r very little that did survive n if a partial piece did survive the fire then they are kept at National Archive of Ireland Dublin. I'm from co.antrim n they have a cemetery find a grave. But I cant seem to find one for co.down.
I am a descendant of Joshua Free. His son William Charles was my great grandfather. My cousin has been unable to find records of his burial. If you would like to contact me, my email address is lipsinc (at) bigpond (dot) com
My grandfather was William James Free. you must descended from one of his brothers. In 1888, William Charles Free had a photography business Free and Sons in Prahran, Melbourne. William Charles had at least two brothers in Australia, Richard and Isaac. Richard did go to Queensland under an assumed name, Burns. William Charles had eight children: Agnes, Joshua, John, Marian, Matilda, William( my grandfather) and Edith
I am descended from Marion who married John Miles. Before her death I had made contact with Yevonne, who gave me some of the info on Richard
