Ada AGER was born on 8th October 1877 in Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire. She married Charles FRANCIS of Knighton, Radnorshire in Castle Camps on 26th July 1905, after which he whisked her back to Knighton to live.

From what I have discovered thus far, they had 4 children:
    Eric Ager (1906- 1976)
    Frederick Charles (1908 - ?)
    John Albert (1910 – 1979)
    Molly Louise (1918 – 2011)

As you can see from above, there is a ? after Frederick Charles. He may be found with his family in the 1911 census aged 3 living at Mile/Mill Brook Cottage, Brampton Bryan, Knighton (although it is really in Herefordshire) but then disappears. :sceptical:

I have not been able to find him in the 1939 Register nor have I found a death for him.

Any clues to his whereabouts, would be gratefully received. @Chimp have you seen this lot at all?

    Thank you. :)

Oh yes - Ada was the sister of Emma in this thread... :headbang:

I think he may be the Frederick Charles Francis whose death was registered in Plymouth Sept. qtr 1981, which gives a DOB of 10th June 1908. There is an entry in the probate index for him

This chap can be found at 61 Notte Street, Plymouth in 1939 with an Edna G. Francis. Fredrick C Francis married Edna Gladys Martin in 1936 in Plymouth (reg. Sept qtr.).

I think you can forget him - he was baptised in Plymouth :(

Mile brook is about a mile out of Knighton on the Welsh side of the river. Brampton Bryan is about 7 miles from Knighton (where I was brunged up) which is as you say in Herefordshire. Just across the river is Stow which is in Shropshire. That area has a convergence of three counties and two countries.

Now, FRANCIS's of Mile Brook are a well known family around these parts, they were Blacksmiths and are still in the business of welding and fabrication today, and I believe still at Mile Brook. They moved from Clun to Mile Brook back in 1818.

The family Charles, Ada, (children) Eric A, Molly L and Margaret are still at
Milebrook Cottage, Knighton, Knighton U.D., Radnorshire, Wales. They also have with them a Robert C Francis born 1937.

They can be found by searching under:-
    Ada Francis
Location in 1939 - Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales

She is the only one with the birth year of 1877 (but I think you already have that information.)

Going to send you an email.

No. :( It was registered in the June quarter of 1908 in Knighton RD, though.

I wonder if he was baptised and they very helpfully recorded it.... Do you have access? :reading:

The mystery has been solved - thanks to @Chimp :D

Frederick had moved down to Bexley (Kent) by 1939 and was working as a Metropolitan Police Constable. He died in 1997.

Another loose end tied up. :D

I see the 1939 register says he was married, I wonder where his wife is as she's not with him on the register.

On the 1939 register he is at 64 Heversham Road, Bexley.

The 1939 Bexly Electoral register for 64 Heversham Road has Frederick Charles and Margaret Francis.

By 1948 they are at Belvedere Road.

They are at Rydal Drive, Bexley in 1960.

She is in Knighton with her in-laws, so it looks like Robert was her son

There is a marriage for a Frederick c Francis to a Margaret moore, can't remember where now but there is a birth for a Robert c Francis in Dartford in 1937 with mother's maiden name moore.
