I am the 3rd great granddaughter of Henry and Susan Ackerman who came from Somerset to New Zealand in the late 1800's and resided in Masterton where their house still stands today.
My ancestors were Henry and Susan Ackerman my great great great grandparents who came from Somerset

Hi Debra. Welcome to the forum.
We have another enquiry on the forum of Henry and Susan Ackerman 'When Did They Arrive' dated June 1 2015. The enquiry was posted by one of our well known members 'The Artful Dodger'
It was found that this Henry and Susan Ackerman arrived in New Zealand on the 'Zealandia' 17 July 1879.
If you have enquiry of Henry and Susan then perhaps a mod could link? Maybe?

According to my research, some of which has been gleaned from this forum, Henry and Susan Taylor were married 11 May 1861 in Bridport Dorset and after living in both Clifton, Gloucestershire and Crewkerne, Somerset, they had 6 children before leaving for New Zealand 17 July 1879, when Henry was aged 40.
