Record Keeping....

Derek be aware of which external drive you have, I received an email from Windows a few days ago, stating that one of their xternal drives wiped itself of all data on the 23 june-this month. Mine happily is not of theirs.
I have already had one 'fritz' during a windows update. It had oodles of important to me data.

I don't quite trust cloud either but some stuff is saved there.

Nor is mine one of Windows, mine is a Seagate, I only use it to store Genealogy and one or two other database data on such as Brother's Keeper info.
Started a reply yesterday but was on laptop [we don't quite see eye to eye yet], I also had seagate & liked it, until the dreaded window's update fritzed it. Can't think of any other reason.
Now have something different again bought by our Son, bless him.

Does any one know if Family Tree maker works well with Macbooks now? I got it a while ago but couldn't get on with it and although I could save photos etc I couldn't save records from Ancestry. Do you have to download them then save. I remember from pre Macbook days I liked Family Tree Maker.
