William Parker, bachelor, full age, mariner married Ann Jones, spinster, full age, in the parish church in Conway, Carnarvonshire, Wales on 28th January 1866. (Image on FMP)

Can anyone make out what is written under Ann's name?

Don't know if this will have any bearing on the case but there is no father for Ann.

I think it was because she hadn't given a fathers name.

Bearing in mind some church incumbents lack of charitable attitude, it's no wonder some people when marrying gave a 'made up' father's name. :(

William was born in Springfield, Essex and was baptised on 19th March 1843 in Chelmsford. The rest of his siblings were born in different places. His father, also a William  was a plate layer and went where work took him. Although, William junior was a mariner on his marriage he gave that up and became a painter. What sort of painter I have no idea.

His father, William Parker married Elizabeth Smith, When and where..... who knows....with them moving around so much they could have been married anywhere.
