This is the record for the marriage of my 6x grat grandparents. It is taken from the Sheffield bishop's transcripts of marriages 3rd April 1748. There is one word that I can't make out. 2nd Entry William Broadbent (?) and Hannah Staniforth
Thanks for making me take another look at the original AM. On some of them it says 'Lab' which I take as their profession (Labourer) On William's I think it is the same as several on the same page. I know that William was a Cutler (a person who sharpened or made knives) so 'Cut' is probably short for Cutler
You know sometimes I take my hubby for granted. He had a look and said 'cut' it say's 'cut'. Why would it say that say's I. Oh dear, sorry Archie's Dad.
The same word appears on the following line after what I assume is the male name. Have no idea what it is, but thought it worth a mention.
I'm really pleased that FMP have put a load of records on for Yorkshire. I have now found marriage and some burial records of my family going back to 1638. I had dates from a distant relitve but had nothing to back them up. Well done FMP
